RUN TODAY FOR A GREENER TOMORROW!
How do you get everyone to understand the increasing concerns of climate change? Of plastic waste? Of pollution? Seminars? Movies? Songs? But how will it create a lasting impact! Wait, how about creating a win-win situation? Something that everyone will enjoy doing, can relate to and is engaging. And still create an impact on a larger scale! This led us to start a marathon with a sustainable twist – The SBI Green Marathon in association with Mirchi!
Brought together by India’s largest bank – State Bank of India and India’s biggest entertainment network Mirchi, this marathon comes with an emotion. An emotion of fitness, of health and of bringing a change! A change that will stay forever, a change that will positively impact the future generations. SBI Green Marathon has successfully and sustainably completed 4 years and counting! And we’re proud and happy when we say that we have executed our marathon in more than 15 states across India. Each year brings a new way of communicating our core message or our theme for each year. This theme is spread across multiple platforms, through radio, social media, print and on-ground mediums.
This has contributions from more than 150 + Mirchi RJs across India through mentions on radio and social media content. Mirchi RJs also play hosts at the event, thus keeping the runners engaged and encouraged. Active members from the runner’s community act as ambassadors at the marathon who ensure that all the runners are well charged up before the marathon. Their presence on the ground is much needed and deserved. To charge up the participants before the run, we have a Zumba session that ensures that the morning is upbeat and energetic! Our biggest achievement is number of runners, both experienced and first-time, who have participated till now. The number of registrations growing each year is a testament to the fact that there is awareness and anticipation towards building a greener and healthier planet.
